NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--New York Sports Clubs, Boston Sports Clubs, Philadelphia Sports Clubs and Washington Sports Clubs announced today that they will be opening their doors, free to all, this weekend, Friday, August 9 through Sunday, August 11.
“We know that a lot of people in New York, Boston, Philadelphia and DC are going to be looking for new spaces to work out, and we want to open our doors to them to come work out with us this weekend,” said Patrick Walsh, CEO of parent company Town Sports International Holdings, Inc. “We have always been about giving to the community, which is why we also allowed people to use our facilities for free during the heatwave. We strive to maintain and foster all-embracing spaces of inclusion and acceptance and want all of our members to have a sense of comfortability and acceptance the second they walk through our doors.”
For those planning to make the switch from other gyms, the sports clubs will waive all initiation fees to help offset the cost of members’ cancellation fees.
New York Sports Clubs will also donate a minimum of $10,000 to The Trevor Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to suicide prevention for the LGBTQ+ youth community.
“We admire The Trevor Project for the work they do and believe its mission and message of inclusion is aligned with our own,” Walsh said. “We want the world to be a more welcoming place, and Town Sports International is striving to play our part in making that happen.”
